17 schools, campuses or programs close in at least one option. Far more schools receive students or get a new attendance boundary. If your school is not on the closure list, the plan can still change your classroom, your feeder pattern or your building's enrollment.

Closing and merging schools also triggers a district-wide staffing reorganization. When positions are eliminated at one building, displaced staff are placed into openings elsewhere under the district's contracts with its employee groups, which give weight to seniority. That reshuffling reaches buildings that are not closing at all. Newer teachers and the most recently hired cohorts are the most exposed, because they have the least seniority to hold a position with.
